Diary #3 - How Stephen Hawking proofed that time travel isn't possible...

Diary #3 - Is time travel possible? Probably not... but whats the best way to proof that?
Thats probably what Stephen Hawkings asked himself when he came up with a truly mind blowing  experiment!

When we think about time travel and proofing if it's possible or not there would probably not be an easy way to proof either of it.
But Stephen Hawking, as a genius as he is, came up with an amazing idea/experiment, that even you at home can recreate.

So what did Mr. Hawking do. As simple as is sounds he just threw a party.

But how would that proof anything? Very simple, he threw the party but did not send out the invitation before but 2 days after the party!

Invitation for Stephen Hawkings party sent after the party took place

And now you might think, "yeah that's all fine but that just proofs that someone in two days can't time travel, and thats obvious."

BUT NO. Thats exactly what is so mind blowing. He wrote the invitation on a special paper with some special ink that doesn't fade.

So now when you think about it. That letter can be found in 5000 years from now. So if someone in the 7022 would find that letter and time travel would be possible that person would have been at Mr. Hawkings party!

Same goes for someone who finds that letter in 10'000 years! If time travel is possible in the future there would be someone that would have attended that party!

But there was no one at Mr. Hawkings party... so that's the ultimate proof that time travel is not possible!

Yes, of course you could say that the letter could have been lost or burnt or whatever. So there is no ultimate proof if time travel is possible or not. But still I just find the idea of the experiment so amazing!

If there were time-travelers there would have been at this party. The simplicity of that idea is just astonishing!

So if a time traveler would read that post in some way please send me a DM on Instagram on the 1st of May 2022 at 21:15 ;)

Hope you enjoyed todays post and had just as much fun as I had when I found out about that experiment.

As always till next week and thank you for reading :)
